What to expect

Laulujoutsen (Finnish for "whooper swan") is a sauna project planned next to Tohloppi beach in western Tampere. The site is the Pyydyspohjankatu shore, where the existing Tohloppi Barrel Sauna already operates. The new building is planned to have a wood-heated sauna, an electric sauna and a café, and to serve lake and winter swimmers. During summer 2026 the plans were revised to increase sauna capacity and improve the changing and washing rooms. The sauna will be run by Laulujoutsen Sauna Oy. No opening date has been confirmed, and prices and opening hours for the new sauna have not been published. The existing barrel sauna is meant to stay in use until the new building opens. Tohloppi Swimming Club (Tohlopin Uimaseura) publishes updates on the project.
